Fishing in the Mono Hot Springs area is an adventure of a
lifetime. Whether you prefer to troll, bait or fly fish you will find many streams
and lakes within driving or walking distance. Two large lakes, Edison and Florence
have been known for their lunker browns and rainbows.
Fly fishing is superb whether you fish on the San Joaquin River or one of the many high
country lakes or streams for the allusive Golden Trout and Brook Trout. Many small
streams offer excellent fishing for Brook Trout and are especially attractive to people
who love to enjoy peace and soft sounds of small babbling brooks. The South Fork of the
San Joaquin River, Ward Lake, Mono Creek, Jackass Meadows (Florence Lake) and other areas
are planted weekly by the California Department of Fish and Game with pan size and
larger rainbows. |
